Recommendations and service go along, together strong, so put them in!

In addition to my blog of July 2010 "Social Recommendations the new advertising" this issue deserves an update. Recommendations and the reviews gain more and more impact on purchasing decisions. The purchase influence involves the actual purchase of a service or product, but also to decision to follow a person or company in social media like Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. 
Media that provide likeability 
How credible is a producers’ shouting about the amazingness of his product? Are we running towards the kitchen during the commercial break on tv? I am surprised that such a traditional medium as television, which needs commercial revenues for it’s existance, can get us modern people waiting for it’s programming. It’s hard for me to understand that among all available flexible on demand media, still the conservative inflexible tv programming rules! Strange but true, but ..... This medium usage and so the commercial value, should be a steep downward curve will show in the near future!
We experience continued growth in the value of reviewing, recommendations and "likes" by other users of the product or service we are looking for. The first product orientation is mainly being processed through Internet. And online purchase is still growing. If the vendor acts smart, he eighter provides his products by web shop and a physical (in-) store. CrossMedia or better yet ConnectedMedia for sales combined with service is a trend. Example of success in Holland is  http://www.coolblue.nl/ which offer it’s Service through such physical stores. Serviced customers become ambassadors of the company by talk-of-the-neighborhood and online. The similar to Zappos service exist as a core value in the company. Just a personal note written on the delivery of the repaired product arrives. Currently, Cool Blue obtains 11,504 "Like" Facebook friends. 
 Online effects and impact by recommendations and reviews
There is an evolution going on in development recommendations and reviews. Gradually to the algorithms of the search engine Google the influenced score increases with social media mentions, like Twitter etc. 
What an attention value you can notice on a YouTube posted  video 5 days ago of the iPhone 4S with more than 3.8 million! views.

What a transparency at the bookreview ‘Socialnomics’ by Erik Qualman. Displayed are the number of reviews on Amazon. As well as a positive versus negative recommendation message. Moreover, the Facebook Like button to use the book to promote through the world's biggest platform.
